How is a Temporary Flight Restriction (TFR) officially designated?

Why: Remote Pilot Study Guide (p. 10): "A flight data center (FDC) Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) is issued to designate a TFR."

  • Confuses a permanently charted feature, printed on the sectional at publication, with a TFR, which is time-limited and issued separately through the NOTAM system rather than printed on the chart.
  • Invents a tower-announcement mechanism; TFRs are disseminated through the NOTAM system, not through local tower broadcasts.
